MDX-540 bir 4 eksenli gelişmiş tezgah üstü CNC cihazı olmasına rağmen, prototip üretimini kolay ve stressiz bir deneyim haline getirmek için basitleştirilmiş işletim sistemine ek olarak SRP Player CAM yazılımı içerir. Döner eksen (isteğe bağlı), otomatik alet değiştirici (isteğe bağlı) ve kazıma hızının tümü, basit Virtual Control Panel ya da kullanıcı dostu yazılım ile kontrol edilebilir.
